This book is a treasure trove of many of the so-called "snake-oil" cures around during that period of history. We suspect Moses Avery’s family added some items after his death, but the bulk of the items were probably his contributions. Over 150 illustrations were added, some of the spellings were modernized and the text was organized to make it easier to follow. The work was of great value to all classes of people at the time, and is now of great historical value. Great for historians, perfect for a birthday or holiday gift! There should be a copy in every home - this is a book you will read and reread often!!
