SPRINGBOARDS OF SUPERSTITION

A Magician’s Guide to Common Illogical Beliefs

by Joe Lantiere

Superstitious?... Who, me? How many times have you heard that? No matter how many times, there are always many things that put doubts in your mind. What about the black cat that crosses your path?... or walking under a ladder?... or opening an umbrella indoors?

What are the superstitions of many stage magicians and other theatrical performers?

These are just a few of the things discussed in this book. Reading about superstitions and their origins might free some of those fears that remain prisoners in our minds and dictate how we act and live our lives.

WARNING: In addition to light-hearted superstitions (like 4-leaf clovers, etc.) this book also deals with more serious and disturbing subjects (like the "evil eye," including 5 "cures" - and exorcisms, including 3 "exorcism rituals"). This book may be too intense for those with weak hearts!

This book is 97 pages, and is comb-bound to keep the book open and flat while reading. It has parchment-like covers (to give it that "olde world" flavor) protected by clear plastic overleafs, and is profusely illustrated with more than 40 photos and drawings.

Only 100 copies of this first edition were published. Less than 70 copies are left!!! Each copy is numbered and signed by the author. Published April 1, 2008, the price is only $13 plus postage.
